We are currently supporting our client - a large APAC retail / consumer industries organisation, an ASX 200 company, who is going through a huge amount of growth and transformation as they set themselves up for their future state. As the next phase of their P&C business unit transformation is implemented, an exciting opportunity for a Health Safety and Wellbeing Partner. They have more than 5000 employees and are growing, customer centric in everything that they do!

About the Role

This role will be accountable for role modelling a culture of safety maturity through effective risk management and consultation regarding all health and safety matters, working with and supporting a well-rounded leadership team.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·      Undertaking site visits to coach, consult and conduct risk assessments, hazard inspections, reporting back to the business on specific outcomes, common findings and recommended corrective actions

·      Ensuring personal safety and the safety of those around you, by complying with all safe work practices, policies, procedures and instructions

·      Providing advice and coaching to people leaders on matters relating to safe work practices, legislative compliance and activities to mature safety culture

·      Championing initiatives that continue to mature culture and heighten team member and people leader’s knowledge and capability in managing health and safety matters

·      Supporting with the development and effective review of the organisations HSW Management System

·      Contributing to the ongoing development and deployment of the organisations HSW programs

·      Working closely with the broader People and Culture team where safety and other related People issues intersect

·       Supporting Injury Management & wellbeing through coaching Managers to implement early intervention, monitor return to work plans, liaising with Managers and People & Culture Business Partners as required

About you    

Ideally you will have a tertiary qualification in health & safety and an ICAM accreditation would be highly desirable!  You will have a proved track record within health, safety and wellbeing from within a complex structured organisation and relevant knowledge of key legislation & RTW programs.

You have a hand-on style, with excellent communication, consultation & negotiation skills; able to influence across all levels to get things done. You have a problem-solving mentality, comfortable in an ambiguous and fast paced environment, empathetic to others with a strong business partnering approach.

Experience around educating others and driving change for best practice would be beneficial.
